Learning to Lead

My experience as an intern has helped me define what it is to be a leader. Working with children that have the desire to learn and listen to your knowledge could possibly be the best feeling in the world. I love everything about the STEM program, from working out problems and coming up with innovative solutions to teaching children how to be supporting teammates. Everyone in the program taught me new lessons on leadership and project management that I will never forget. Watching the coaches and STEM professionals interact and help these children achieve what they believe in is exactly what I hope to become. I loved looking up to my team’s Coach, Ashley, by not only helping the children discover their full potential, but also by being a friend and supporter. The STEM professional for my team, Mr. Fred, helped the children become organized and pretty professional themselves. Having a strong leader as an example not only for the kids, but for me too, definitely helped me discover what true dedication to STEM is. I am happy to say I love the program and hope it continues to grow for a long time!
